Sigmund Romberg is one of the most significant composers of the early twentieth century. While residing in the USA, he composed many operettas and scores for movies, some of which became very popular worldwide, such as the White Lilac. The list of his music associates includes George Gershwin. Romberg happens to have spent a part of his childhood in Belišće, and the locals gladly remember their most famous fellow citizen.
