A visit to the small town of Buzet at the start of September will take you for a time voyage into history. The fiesta called Subotina has been held in early September since ancient times. Aimed at bringing life to the old-town streets of Buzet, Subotina is still celebrated in its original form, successfully taking us back to the times and the environment in which the people of Buzet used to work and live in a long time ago. On the day it is held, the streets are filled with traditional scents and sounds, and the people of Buzet are dressed in original folk costumes and peasant and town dress from the end of the 19th century. To put it in a nutshell, the entire Old Town becomes a museum of customs and traditional crafts, games, musicians and food.
