Long ago, in 1516, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to shepherds on the island of Zečevo, which is located at the heart of the Parish of Nin. The numerous witnesses of this apparition encouraged Bishop Juraj Divnić to form the holiday, Our Lady of Zečevo, on the day of the apparition, the 5th of May, which the areas surrounding Nin still commemorate, even today. The faithful come from different areas and go on a pilgrimage for the Blessed Virgin Mary because of the miraculous events which occurred over the last five hundred years. On the 5th of August, a statue of the Virgin Mary is carried by boat to the site where the apparition occurred. Let the spiritual experience of this pilgrimage become a part of your life!
